It gave me lots of insights to India from the viewpoint of Indian youth. Especially, I was impressed with the speech called "Sparks". That was for a ceremony in university in India.
- Next Diwali, when you pray, ask not for money but for Lakshmi.
- There was so much to be curious about. I call this excitement the 'spark'. Give your spark the fuel, continuously. Guard against storms.
- Hindi is our mother, English our wife, and it is possible to love both.
- Talent conflicts with the traditional Indian caste system.
- Lerds(Liberal Arts) and Nerds must join hands to build a better India.
きっとうまくいく(3 idiots)の作者による一冊です。多数のエッセイが収められており、話題はインドにおける社会、政治、そして若者に関してです。こう言った見方をするんだーと大変勉強になりました。特に大学向けのスピーチ原稿「Sparks」にはグッときました。ジョブスのstay hungry, stay foolishに通ずるものがあります。
- 次のディワリにはお金を願うのではなく、ラクシュミに祈ろう。
- 小さいころ、色々興味をひくものがあったはず。これらを目の前にした時の興奮が「スパーク」。気を付けないとそれらのスパークはどんどん消えて行ってしまう。自分で常に燃料を与えよう。嵐が来てもそれが消えないようにしよう。
- ヒンディは我々の母、英語は妻、どちらも愛することは可能だ。
- 才能重視の考え方はインドのカースト制度と衝突してしまう。でも才能重視に移行しないとインドに未来は無い。
- Lerds(いわゆる文系、政治家向けの人々)と技術オタクが手を取り合わないといけない。
