As the title says, many young(30-40) Indian parliamentarians disclose their thoughts in this book. For example,
- 400 million Indians still have no access to electricity and there are daily power cuts even in the nation's capital.
- Students are still judged and labelled according to the marks they score and the overall aim of education is to end up with a high-paying salary and material comforts in life.
- The 1990s saw the peak of caste-based politics in India.
- Technology-oriented farm sectors should be introduced into India.
- We should tackle division between rural and urban. Although we built power plant or factory in rural area, we have not return benefit to the area yet.
- We should take care of women and children more.
and so on.
First of all, compared with Japan, scale of land and population are hugely different. So, they politician should tackle problems in the different manner from Japan. Actually Japan politics system doesn't work so well at the current moment. We don't need them because social infrastructure has matured so much. But India is under different situation. They should improve social infrastructure system so that people can live safely and concentrate on education or cultural activity other than daily life.
タイトル通り、若いインドの議員達（30代、40代）がそれぞれの思いを綴った一冊。例えば、
・４億のインド人がいまだに電化されていない状況。都市部ですら停電が起きている。
・学生はどれだけ点数を取れたのかで評価されており、人生でいかに高額のサラリーを稼ぐのかに焦点を置いた教育が為されている。
・90年代、カーストをベースとした政策がピークとなった。低カーストの優遇等。それはそれで歪みを生んでいる。
・インドの農業は技術導入によりもっと効率化されるべき。
・都市部と地方の格差をどうにかしなくては。地方に発電設備を作る一方でその恩恵を地方に還元していない。
・女性、子供をもっと手厚くケアすべき。
などなど
そもそも、日本と比べて土地の規模も人口の規模も段違い。正直、日本の政治なんてそれほど機能していない。で、それをあんまり気にしない。なぜなら社会インフラが良い意味でも悪い意味でも成熟しているから。インドはそうじゃない、だからこそ性地場の置かれている立場も違うんだなーと思った次第。彼らは国民が最低限の生活が保障されてもっと上位の活動に専念出来るように社会インフラを整えなくてはいけない訳で。と言っても、汚職等の課題もはらんでいるんですけどね。
