作家紹介
本名はチャールズ・ラトウィッジ・ドジソン (Charles Lutwidge Dodgson [ˈt͡ʃɑːɫz ˈlʌtwɪd͡ʒ ˈdɒdʒsən]) で、作家として活動する時にルイス・キャロルのペンネームを用いた。このペンネームは "Charles Lutwidge" をこれに対応するラテン語名 "Carolus Ludovicus" に直し、再び英語名に戻して順序を入れ替えたものである。なお、 "Dodgson" の実際の発音は「ドジソン」ではなく「ドッドソン」に近いという説もあるが、この記事では慣例に従い「ドジソン」と表記する。
作家としてのルイス・キャロルは、『不思議の国のアリス』の作者として非常によく知られている。
